Which claims about APPSC 2026 are not true?
Thirteen claims about APPSC Group 1 and Group 2 in 2026 do not match the commission's own documents, from a Group 2 interview that does not exist to post counts that later orders changed. Each row below gives the claim, what is true, and the document that shows it. The commission's web note of 15 September 2026 asks candidates not to rely on unverified information, and this page works to the same rule.

What changed on 15 September 2026?
On 15 September 2026 APPSC issued brief notification 07/2026 for Group-I Services, with 163 provisional vacancies and online applications from 6 to 27 October 2026. The government order of 22 August had sanctioned 149 Group 1 posts. The brief notification also prints which posts make up the 163, 13 in all. The detailed notification of 6 October 2026 lists 166 vacancies, with the category and zone breakup in its Annexure I.

The same web note ends with a request. Item 4 asks candidates "not to believe, rely upon, circulate, share, or forward any unverified or misleading information pertaining to APPSC notifications, recruitment schedules, examinations, results, selections, etc." Item 5 asks them to rely on what is published at psc.ap.gov.in.
That is the purpose of this page. It lists claims about APPSC that are in circulation in 2026. Beside each one it places the notification, result notice or government order that settles it, so you can check the claim yourself instead of taking our word for it. When a newer document appears, it overrides this page, and we change the page the same day.

Which APPSC 2026 post counts and dates are wrong?
APPSC Group 1 for 2026 is 166 vacancies under detailed notification 07/2026 of 6 October 2026. The brief notification of 15 September listed 163, against 149 in G.O.Ms.No.81 of 22 August. Group 2 is 673 posts in the same order, due to be notified on 15 October 2026. It was not among the 20 brief notifications of 15 September, and no Group 2 exam date has been announced.

The age limit, which this table used to list, is now set by G.O.Ms.No.187 of 14 September 2026: 44 for non-uniform posts notified through APPSC up to 30 September 2027. The APPSC age limit page has the order and the bands for uniform posts.
The Group 1 row changed because a newer document arrived, which is how a post count should change. The order of 22 August is the government's sanction. The brief notification is the commission's own notice, and its first note says the vacancies and details in it are tentative and provisional. The detailed notification of 6 October 2026 lists 166, and it too says the count can change, with added vacancies accepted only before the screening test.

What is true about the APPSC exam pattern?
APPSC Group 2 has no interview, and the Group 1 Mains counts 750 written marks plus a 75-mark interview, 825 in all. Under notifications 11/2023 and 12/2023 both exams are set in English and Telugu, and Group 1 Mains may be written in Urdu too. Nothing issued so far for 2026 changes the pattern. If the detailed notification changes it, this page will say so on that day.

What is true about APPSC results and cut-offs?
The APPSC Group 1 court case that reached a special investigation team in August 2026 belongs to the 2018 cycle, notification 27/2018. The 2023 cycle ended with a final selection list on 30 January 2026, with 87 selected. Cut-off marks are published for some exams and not for others, and none was published for the Group 2 exams of notification 11/2023.

Which APPSC notices turned out to be fake?
APPSC has answered two waves of fake notices since 2025. A note on 22 February 2025 claimed the next day's Group 2 Mains was postponed, and the commission called it false and said a police complaint was being given. Fake recruitment schedules shared on WhatsApp and Facebook in 2026 drew a web note on 9 January 2026 and a warning in June 2026.

What are the right APPSC pay scale and age figures?
The APPSC Deputy Tahsildar scale under the 2022 pay revision is 44,570 to 1,27,480. The figure of 28,940 to 78,910 that still appears in many places is the 2015 scale. The Prohibition and Excise Sub Inspector age band is 18 to 30 in notification 11/2023, paragraph 7.4. Both may be restated in the 2026 notifications.

How can I check an APPSC claim myself?
Check any APPSC date or number for a notification number, a G.O. number, or a page on psc.ap.gov.in. The commission's web note of 15 September 2026 asks candidates to rely on what is published there. A date that carries none of these is a rumour until it appears on that site, and that includes any date on this page without one.
Several of the claims above were not invented. They are older figures on pages written for an earlier cycle and not changed since. On 31 August 2026 we read the 27 web pages that AI search tools pointed to for the questions our APPSC pages answer. About one in five showed a visible date. Of the five that gave Deputy Tahsildar pay, four printed the 2015 scale. Some sites had the current figure on one page and the older one on another.
So the date on a page matters as much as the number. A figure from before 22 August 2026 cannot know the job calendar order, and a figure from before 15 September cannot know the brief notification.
The document to read now is the detailed notification 07/2026 of 6 October 2026: 166 vacancies, age counted on 1 July 2026, and the screening test on 24 January 2027. Read the post list and the age rule in it yourself, on psc.ap.gov.in, before you fill the form. For Group 2, the order points to 15 October 2026; the dates it sets are on the APPSC 2026 notification page, and the age bands on the APPSC age limit page.

What changed on this page
Updated 23 September 2026. This page said Group 1 would be 149 posts, notified on 15 September 2026. The notice came on that date, and it lists 163 provisional vacancies, so the first table now carries both figures and the document behind each. It also said which posts make up the 163 was not published. That was wrong too: the brief notification prints the split across 13 posts, and the table now gives it. The page also said APPSC had published no cut-offs since 2019. That was wrong: a Group 1 interview cut-off for notification 28/2022 came out on 7 June 2024. The cut-off row now says so. It also listed "the upper age is now 44" as not true. That claim is true: G.O.Ms.No.187 of 14 September 2026 raised the upper limit to 44 for non-uniform posts notified through APPSC up to 30 September 2027. The row has been removed, and the APPSC age limit page explains the order.

166. Detailed notification 07/2026 of 6 October 2026 lists 166 vacancies across 13 posts. The brief notification of 15 September 2026 listed 163, and G.O.Ms.No.81 of 22 August 2026 had sanctioned 149. The category breakup is in Annexure I of the detailed notification.
Was APPSC Group 2 notified on 15 September 2026?
No. Group 2 is not among the 20 brief notifications of 15 September. G.O.Ms.No.81 sets its notification for 15 October 2026, and no exam date has been announced.
Does APPSC Group 2 have an interview in 2026?
No. Notification 11/2023 paragraph 15.2: selection is by merit in the Main Examination. Nothing issued for 2026 so far changes that.
Was the APPSC Group 1 Mains cancelled by the High Court?
The 2018 cycle's Mains valuation was set aside by the High Court in March 2024, and that case continues. The 2024 to 2025 cycle finished with a final list on 30 January 2026.
Has the APPSC age limit been raised to 44?
Yes, for non-uniform posts. G.O.Ms.No.187 of 14 September 2026 raised the upper limit from 42 to 44 for posts notified through APPSC up to 30 September 2027. Uniform posts keep their own bands. This page listed the claim as not true until 23 September 2026, and that was wrong.
