Which months of current affairs does APPSC ask?

Mostly the last 12 months. We measured 468 past APPSC questions that came from a news event and counted how old that news was on the exam day.

Group 2 follows the same rule from its exam date, once APPSC announces it. For Group 2 Mains we add two years of Andhra Pradesh news, because that paper asks about the state much more.

How does a news item become a question?

Each news item passes seven stations: collect, check, select, file, write, release and correct. The machine below runs all of them without stopping.

How a news item becomes a question

A bench machine that turns news into exam questions, read in two rows like lines of text. Back row, left to right: 1 Collect, three trays feed news slips onto a belt every morning at 7; 2 Check, a stamp under a lamp and a ledger marks each fact an official record confirms; 3 Select, a gate keeps what APPSC can ask; 4 File, a card cabinet files each fact as one card. Front row: 5 Write, two rollers write the card in English and Telugu; 6 Release, a press, a Sunday tray and a card dispenser release BLOOM Weekly Current Affairs and BLOOM Monthly Current Affairs; 7 Correct, a correction box sends each fix back to the same card on a rail.

CollectEvery morning at 7 we read Government Orders, government press releases and the Telugu papers.

CheckA fact goes in only when an official record confirms it. Newspapers help us find news. They do not confirm it.

SelectWe keep what APPSC can ask, judged from its past papers. Andhra Pradesh comes first.

FileEach fact is filed as one card with one ID. We check it once and use it everywhere.

WriteEvery card is written in English and Telugu. A native reader checks the Telugu.

ReleaseBLOOM Weekly Current Affairs comes out every Sunday at 10 am. BLOOM Monthly Current Affairs and its 30-question exam come out on the 3rd of every month.

CorrectIf we find an error after release, we fix the same card and show the correction to learners.

One fact travels the whole bench. We read the sources at 7 every morning, confirm each fact against an official record, keep what APPSC can ask and file it as one card. That card is written in English and Telugu. The week runs Sunday to Saturday: entries close Saturday at 8 pm and BLOOM Weekly Current Affairs comes out Sunday at 10 am. BLOOM Monthly Current Affairs and its 30-question exam follow on the 3rd of every month. Corrections go back to the same card and are shown to learners.
